We’re Taking Part in the Inaugural “Celebrating Homecare”

17 September | By

At Hales Care, we’re delighted to announce that we’ll be taking part in the first ever “Celebrating Homecare” event, which is due to take place on September 22nd.

More than ever before, the public are placing their support behind our sector and recognising the magnificent work that homecare workers, both professional and domestic, do every day to support those in need.

Speaking about the celebration, Karolina Gerlich, CEO of the CWC said: “It’s right and proper every so often to take a step back from the day to day and look at what you have achieved.

“Care workers do such amazing work, bringing companionship, care and comfort to so many people. It’s wonderful to have the opportunity to celebrate what they do!”

Background

Celebrating Homecare has been developed by UKHCA, with support from the Care Workers’ Charity to shine a light on the difference that homecare makes to those in need all over the country.

The event has also garnered support from various care bodies across the UK and Ireland, including:
Scottish Care
Care Forum Wales
Independent Health & Care Providers (Northern Ireland)
Home & Community Care Ireland

What’s the Theme This Year?

Each day of the year, our homecare support workers (and those across the UK) lend their care and support to help those that require help to improve their quality of life and flourish within the community.

Jane Townson, CEO of UKHCA commented: “Homecare workers have been a lifeline for many people throughout the past 18 months, showing real selflessness and resilience in providing invaluable support to people in their own homes in incredibly challenging times.”

“But the work they do is always important – not just throughout the pandemic. Homecare services benefit all of us: people who receive and give services, their families, health services and our wider communities.

“Their roles deserve to be celebrated now, and increasingly into the future.”

This year the chosen theme is ‘Made with Care’, which will celebrate the strong bonds that are forged between carers and those that receive care and highlight the activities that bring people together.

This could be anything from crafting and baking, to puzzles and enjoying interaction on social media.
Whatever it might be that helped bring two people together, we want to celebrate the bonds that exist, no matter how they were created.

Our Thanks to You

At Hales Homecare, we employ 2,000 care workers, who support clients in their homes. Although the immediate requirements for our service users is often help with medical care, for conditions such as dementia and Alzheimer’s, their support reaches much further.

Our carers take the time to get to know those they’re caring for, which often means supporting their mental health, offering friendship, and helping them regain and maintain their independence and life quality.

We’re always looking for ways to celebrate our care workers and taking the time to recognise their outstanding work through the Celebrating Homecare event seemed like the perfect opportunity for us to continue our commitment to both our staff and our service users.

Despite an incredibly difficult time throughout the world, our home care workers have continued to serve their community with tireless commitment, good humour, and unparalleled passion, and for that we’d like to thank each and every one of them.

Managing Director of Hales Homecare, Nicola Mewse comments: “Our Care Workers have proven to be inspirational throughout recent months and we are delighted that this year’s Homecare Day celebrates the personal touch they bring to so many people’s lives.”

“We see endless examples of making, baking and entertaining much of which has been led by the care staff themselves. We are incredibly proud to have such a committed and talented workforce within Hales Homecare and want to recognise them today and everyday”

If you have any questions about how we’re Celebrating Homecare, or are interested in any of the services we can provide, do not hesitate to contact us today.
